Here is the reason: Wyndham Rewards uses flat pricing instead of the dynamic pricing that most hotel programs have moved to, and one flat price covers the whole room no matter how many people are in it. For a family of four, or five, or six, nothing else comes close.
This winter our own family is putting that to the test, staying entirely on Wyndham points across Germany and Austria in sleek European hotels where every room holds all four of us. In this guide I will show you how Wyndham Rewards points work, how to earn them fast, how to book step by step, and the best Wyndham properties to redeem on at home and abroad.
Brands Under the Wyndham Umbrella
Wyndham is the largest hotel company in the world by number of properties, with more than 9,000 hotels across 95-plus countries and around 20 brands.
At the budget and midscale end you will recognize Super 8, Days Inn, Travelodge, Howard Johnson, Ramada, Baymont, Microtel, Wingate, AmericInn, and La Quinta.
But Wyndham also reaches upscale and international with Wyndham Grand, Wyndham, Wyndham Garden, Dolce, the Registry Collection, Trademark Collection, Dazzler, Esplendor, Wyndham Alltra all-inclusive resorts, TRYP by Wyndham, and Vienna House by Wyndham across Europe.
That European footprint is the part US travelers almost never use, and it is where Wyndham points get exciting.
How Wyndham Rewards Points Work
Wyndham uses flat award pricing, which makes it one of the simplest programs to learn.
As of September 15, 2026, Wyndham moved from three award tiers to four. Free nights now start at just 5,000 points, most standard hotels land at 15,000 or 30,000 points, and only a small number of premium properties reach the new top tier of 45,000 points.
The magic for families is that a flat award covers the entire room. Wyndham does not charge extra points for extra guests. On top of that, many European properties price per bedroom, so a room or apartment that sleeps four can cost the same flat award as a room for one.
That means a $400 design hotel in Munich and a $120 roadside stay can cost the same points. You get the most value by aiming your points at expensive rooms where cash rates are high.
Wyndham also offers Go Fast rates, which combine a smaller number of points with a cash payment if you are short on points.
One note: Wyndham points can expire after 18 months of no account activity, so keep your account active.
How to Earn Wyndham Rewards Points
Wyndham points are among the easiest hotel points to earn, thanks to a refreshed credit card lineup and several transfer partners.
The Barclays Wyndham Rewards Earner Cards
In June 2026, Wyndham and Barclays overhauled the entire card lineup and added a first-ever premium card. There are now four options.
The Wyndham Rewards Earner Card has no annual fee and earns 5x at Wyndham hotels plus bonus points on dining, groceries, and Wyndham Vacation Club purchases. The Wyndham Rewards Earner Plus Card carries a $75 annual fee and earns even more, plus automatic Platinum status and anniversary points. The Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Card has a $95 annual fee and earns 8x at Wyndham hotels and on gas. The new Wyndham Rewards Earner Premier Card is the premium option with the richest earning and perks.
One of the best card perks is the award-night discount. Cardholders save 10 percent on Go Free nights with the Earner and Earner Plus, 20 percent with the Business card, and 25 percent with the Premier. That 25 percent discount turns a 15,000-point night into about 11,250 points.
Transfer Partners
You can also transfer flexible points into Wyndham. Capital One miles, Citi ThankYou points from premium cards, and Bilt points all transfer at 1 to 1, and Wells Fargo Rewards transfer at a strong 2 to 1.
Capital One is the classic easy path, since Capital One miles are simple to earn on everyday spend and transfer to Wyndham instantly.

- Search your destination and dates, then choose the Go Free option to see award nights.
- Confirm your dates and the flat points price.
- Transfer in the points you need. Remember Wells Fargo transfers at 2 to 1, and cardholders get an award discount.
- Book. Since one flat price covers the whole room, bring the whole family.

This is where we are staying this winter. Vienna House hotels are stylish, central, and genuinely family-friendly, with kids’ corners and rooms that hold a family of four. A flat 15,000 points for a design hotel in the heart of Munich, Salzburg, or Berlin is a steal, especially when European cash rates climb.
TRYP by Wyndham, Barcelona and Berlin (from around 15,000 points)
TRYP is Wyndham’s easy European city brand. Family rooms, great locations, and the same flat award price whether it is peak season or not. Perfect for a city stop that would otherwise wreck the budget.
Wyndham Alltra Cancun, Mexico (from around 30,000 points)
An all-inclusive resort you can book entirely on points. Meals, snacks, drinks, and kids’ activities are all included once you arrive, and a flat 30,000 points for an all-inclusive family day in the sun is one of the best resort values in points.
Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach, Florida (from around 30,000 points)

Wyndham Rewards has three elite levels above the base tier: Gold at 5 nights, Platinum at 15 nights, and Diamond at 40 nights.
You do not have to stay your way there. Holding a Wyndham Earner card grants status automatically, and so does the Wyndham Rewards Insider subscription, a $95 a year membership that includes automatic Gold status and discounts across hotels, flights, and more.
