Transfer Partners Guide
Complete guide to Chase, American Express, Capital One and Citi transfer partners and how to use them.
If you’re an avid traveler or frequent flyer, now is the perfect time to maximize the value of your credit card points. Several major programs are offering elevated transfer bonuses, allowing you to get more out of your points through March 2025. Whether you have American Express, Chase, or Citi points, or have earned Avios through multiple airlines, these transfer bonuses provide an excellent opportunity to boost your rewards.
Before you transfer, keep in mind that once your points are transferred, they cannot be transferred back. Also, transfer times can vary by program: for instance, Chase to Marriott Bonvoy transfers are typically instant if your Marriott account is already set up. Let’s explore the current transfer bonuses and how you can make the most of them!
1. Amex Membership Rewards to Hilton Honors: 25% Bonus
From now until March 14, 2025, American Express Membership Rewards points will go further when transferred to Hilton Honors. Normally, the transfer ratio is 1:2, but during this promotion, it improves to a 1:2.5 ratio, giving you a 25% bonus on your transfer. This is a great opportunity to boost your Hilton Honors balance for an upcoming stay, especially if you have plans for travel soon.
Through March 31, 2025, you can take advantage of a 20% transfer bonus from Amex Membership Rewards to Qatar Airways Privilege Club. For every 1 Membership Rewards point you transfer, you’ll receive 1.2 Qmiles. This is a great opportunity to boost your Qmiles balance for award flights or upgrades, especially if you’ve been eyeing a Qsuite or other premium cabin experience.
3. Transferring Avios Between Airlines: British Airways, Qatar Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, and Finnair
If you’ve earned Avios points with any of the following airlines: British Airways, Qatar Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, or Finnair, you can easily transfer your points between these carriers. This flexibility allows you to consolidate points for upcoming flights or use them more strategically. You can also take advantage of award seat availability across all five airlines, ensuring your points go further no matter where you want to fly.
4. Chase Ultimate Rewards to Marriott Bonvoy: 50% Bonus
Chase Ultimate Rewards members can earn a 50% bonus when transferring points to Marriott Bonvoy through March 31, 2025. Normally, 1 Chase Ultimate Rewards point transfers to 1 Marriott Bonvoy point, but during this promotion, the ratio becomes 1:1.5. This bonus effectively increases the value of your points for your next hotel stay.
However, keep in mind that Marriott Bonvoy uses a dynamic points pricing system, meaning the number of points required for a free night can fluctuate. Additionally, transferring your Chase points to Hyatt might offer better value in some cases, as Hyatt generally has a more predictable and lower points redemption rate.
5. Citi ThankYou Points to Qatar Airways Privilege Club: 20% Bonus
Through March 15, 2025, you can transfer your Citi ThankYou Points to Qatar Airways Privilege Club with a 20% bonus. This means that for every 1 Citi ThankYou Point you transfer, you’ll receive 1.2 Avios, which can be used across a range of airlines, including British Airways and Iberia.
This is an excellent way to boost your balance for future flights on Qatar Airways or any of its partner airlines, particularly if you’re looking for a premium cabin experience or the best seat availability.
Final Thoughts
Whether you’re planning a stay at Hilton, booking a flight with Qatar Airways, or dreaming of a luxury hotel stay with Marriott, these transfer bonuses provide excellent opportunities to maximize the value of your credit card points. Just be sure to check specific redemption requirements, especially with dynamic programs like Marriott Bonvoy, which can have varying redemption rates.
Once you transfer your points, they cannot be transferred back, so make sure you have a clear redemption plan in mind. For example, Chase to Marriott is typically instant if your Marriott account is set up, but other transfers may take longer.
With the right strategy, you can get even more out of your points and make your next trip even more rewarding. Be sure to take advantage of these elevated transfer rates before they expire!

I was researching index funds and happened upon the points and miles community through creators who also post about budgets, financial independence, and investing.
Points and miles allowed those people to travel and work toward financial independence simultaneously.
Thank goodness I got started when I did. The past almost two years of travel have been something we will never forget.
Earning points and miles through credit cards is only a good choice if you have the financial discipline to use them, like cash/debit cards.
Since we started traveling with points and miles, we have had more money going into our investment and savings accounts than ever.
